ABOUT Ganymedes

Ganymedes is an open-minded and diverse association for LGBTQ+ & ally students in Groningen. Founded in 2008, we are the oldest existing LGBTQ+ student organisation in the Netherlands!

At Ganymedes, you're free to be whoever you want to be(come). With over 170 members, you're sure to meet like-minded folks here - whether it's for a beer or just a casual conversation! We have drinks every Thursday, usually at Tram 13 (Gelkingestraat 13). In addition to the drinks, we organise parties, lectures, trips, game nights, dinners, and much more.

As a member of Ganymedes, your possibilities are endless. You can join a committee(s), a dispuut, or even found one of these yourself! We believe in equality and opportunity, so you're able to do these things from your very first day on. Naturally, we are also 100% hazing-free. We do organise a (non-obligatory) introduction period for new members, so you'll find your place quickly!

Weekly Drinks

If you don't want to go to one of our events alone, we'll find you a buddy to meet and go together with.

Committees

Committees are formed by volunteering members of Ganymedes. They organize fun activities and more!

Intro Groups

GIGs (Gany Intro Groups) are  small group dinners for newer members.  After dinner, you head to the drinks together.
